8 REASONS WHY YOU WANT ME ON YOUR TEAM
Proven ability to make the cash register ring
I started the Music & Audio business unit from scratch at CreativeLive and built it to over $1M in revenue. I've also helped many existing businesses grow: at Kaleidoscope Product Development I supported the VP of design to bring in over $2M in new business, helped Flo Multizine grow our circulation to 125k copies per issue, and built digital campaigns for GetGood Drums that delivered a 350% ROI
I'm a hands-on executor who can write, design, make videos and run integrated marketing campaigns
Anyone can point and have an opinion. I can actually DO the work, not just manage it. I've written hundreds of magazine articles, blog posts, and ads, designed 100+ t-shirts for Hollister, created packaging designs for Febreze, directed videos for Alternative Press, and built digital marketing programs that generated a 305% ROI for GetGood Drums.
Super experienced working with big clients, world-class VIPs and influencers
The stakes are high and the pressure is on when you're playing in the big leagues, and I've done that my entire career. At CreativeLive I've worked with Billboard top 10 bands and producers, the most successful concert tour promoter on the planet, and guests like Mark Cuban, Richard Branson, Jared Leto and Arianna Huffington. On the agency side, I've worked with clients including Procter & Gamble, P&G, Starbucks, Nike, Nintendo, Red Bull, Whirlpool, Quiksilver, Diesel, and Virgin.
Proven ability to get national press coverage
It's easy to pat yourself on the back, but it's much harder to get other people to do it. I've gotten press coverage for CreativeLive on Billboard, The Hollywood Reporter and 50+ more outlets, got Kaleidoscope Product Development on Core77, Engadget, and Gizmodo, and worked on Abercrombie store openings that were covered by CNN, Business Insider and dozens more outlets.
I've worked at big companies, small companies, and agencies
This is important because you learn different problem-solving approaches at each one which you can apply to challenges you encounter elsewhere. I've done time at a global retailer (Abercrombie & Fitch), a medium-sized tech startup (CreativeLive), a tiny two-person magazine (Flo), a creative agency (Kaleidoscope), and freelanced.
I'm equal parts left and right brained
It's not either/or, it's both/and -- the best solutions out of seeing things from every angle, and I'd like to think that's my biggest strength. I'm equally at home talking to writers and artists, engineers and accountants, marketers and attorneys.
I am super, super passionate about marketing and brand-building
This stuff is genuinely fun to me. I get the same buzz from lowering cost per acquisition or increasing conversion rate that a painter does from finishing a canvas. That means I'm a huge nerd, but it's important because you'll always push yourself harder on things that you're truly passionate about.
Or at least that's what I tell myself. And if you're gonna be working long hours with someone, you might as well have fun doing it, right??
